hadrian’s horse, box

Silver gilt box. African blackwood base. 36 different handmade panels, containing gems, antique glass, glass micro mosaic, and mixed metal inlays. Inspired by the book ‘Memoirs of Hadrian’ by Marguerite Yourcenar. Each box panel is a different wire work pattern, with outer panels. ‘Hadrian’s’ horse sits proudly on top.

Box is approx. 5.5cm square. Lid, 6cmx6cms. Height, including lid, base to top of horse, 8cm.
