Hand carving forms, I predominantly work with the ancient process of lost wax casting in glass and silver. Each piece is unique, taking many hundreds of hours to produce.
I am inspired by literature, history, art and textiles, and have a profound love of nature. I work almost entirely from real life, observing the minute details which differentiate each specimen.
Living things, both flora and fauna, are transient and elusive. My aim is to capture not only the form but the essence of the subject, its fragility and vulnerability.
Ultimately, in beautiful and functional decorative pieces, my desire is to evoke a happy visceral response of mood and memory.
